Inspiring the Next Generation of Young Anglers
Safe, supportive and inspiring sessions for every child
Skills that last a lifetime β on and off the bank
Free and accessible to every family
Working with parents, schools and communities
Our mission is simple: to introduce children and young people to angling in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment, while helping them develop skills that last a lifetime.
Get Your Child StartedFar More Than Catching Fish
Fishing teaches patience, responsibility, respect for nature and confidence in the outdoors. Through our coaching programmes, young people experience the natural world, build practical skills and develop a genuine connection with the environment. Our sessions are designed to make angling accessible to everyone β whether a child is completely new to fishing, already loves the sport, or simply needs a positive outdoor activity that builds confidence and wellbeing.
Five Things Every Junior Takes Away
Structured coaching and hands-on learning, with outcomes that go far beyond the fishing bank.
Safety and Awareness
Safe behaviour around water, responsible fish handling and positive habits that protect them on every future fishing trip.
Skills for Life
Patience, concentration, problem-solving and independence β practical fishing skills that double as life skills.
Respect for Nature
How aquatic ecosystems work, why habitats matter, and how anglers help monitor and protect water quality.
Support for Families & Schools
Outdoor learning that complements education β including SEND-friendly sessions and wellbeing programmes.
The Future of Angling
Today's juniors become tomorrow's responsible anglers, fishery stewards and community volunteers.
Confidence & Friendship
A welcoming community where young people make friends, feel included and leave every session standing taller.
A Mission We Deliver Together
We work closely with parents, schools and community organisations across Somerset to provide meaningful outdoor learning. From school enrichment and SEND-friendly activities to youth wellbeing programmes with SASP and the Somerset Youth Offending Team, angling gives young people a constructive, calming place to grow.

About Our Mission
The questions families and organisations ask us most about what we do and why.
To introduce children and young people to angling in a safe, welcoming and educational environment. Through structured coaching, we help young people learn real fishing skills while building patience, confidence, wellbeing and respect for the natural world.
Not at all β many of our juniors are completely new to fishing. Sessions are designed for beginners, with experienced coaches guiding young anglers step by step, and all tackle and bait provided.
Patience and concentration, responsibility and respect for wildlife, confidence in outdoor environments, and problem-solving β skills that show up at school and at home, not just on the bank.
Fishing naturally gets children outdoors and observing their environment. We teach juniors about local wildlife and aquatic habitats, the importance of protecting waterways, and responsible fishing practice.
Yes. Safety is a priority in everything we do β waterside safety, responsible behaviour and safe fish handling are core to every session, our venues are risk-assessed, and coaches are DBS-checked and safeguarding trained.
Yes β we work with schools, youth groups and community organisations across Somerset, including SASP and the Somerset Youth Offending Team. Visit our Schools & SEND Programmes page or contact us to start the conversation.
