1. Introduction The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that all members, including junior participants, parents/guardians, coaches, and volunteers, behave in a manner that promotes respect, safety, and enjoyment for everyone involved in Summerhayes Juniors Fishing Club.
2. Code for Junior Members
- Always respect fellow anglers, coaches, Parents and volunteers.
- Follow instructions given by coaches and club officials at all times.
- Take care of fishing equipment and return all club gear after use.
- Respect the environment by disposing of litter properly and handling fish with care.
- No bullying, intimidation, or inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
- Report any concerns regarding safety or well-being to a coach or Safeguarding Officer immediately.
3. Code for Parents/Guardians
- Encourage your child to respect club rules and officials.
- Ensure your child arrives on time, properly dressed, and with any necessary equipment.
- Complete all required consent forms, including allergy and emergency contact information.
- Support the club in enforcing its rules and safeguarding measures.
- Treat coaches, volunteers, and other parents with respect.
- Refrain from engaging in negative behavior or arguments during club activities.
4. Code for Coaches & Volunteers
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all junior members.
- Provide fair, equal, and inclusive opportunities for all participants.
- Lead by example, demonstrating good sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
- Adhere to all safeguarding policies and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Never engage in unsupervised one-on-one situations with a child.
- Ensure all fishing equipment is used safely and provide guidance where needed.
- Address any behavioral issues in a calm, fair, and appropriate manner.
5. Disciplinary Actions
- Minor breaches of this Code of Conduct will be addressed with verbal warnings and guidance.
- Repeated misconduct may result in temporary suspension from activities.
- Serious breaches, including bullying or unsafe behavior, may result in permanent removal from the club at the discretion of the Committee.
- Any appeals must be submitted in writing to the Committee for review.
6. Policy Review This Code of Conduct will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains up to date with best practices and club policies.
