FishWish

Founder, Mentor, and Lifelong Champion of Angling Education

Charlie Halliday was one of the original founders of Summerhayes Juniors, dedicating over 11 tireless years to building and nurturing the club from the ground up. With a passion for youth development and community engagement, Charlie’s efforts laid the foundation for what has become one of the region’s most respected junior angling programs.

Beyond Summerhayes, Charlie was the driving force behind Fishwish, a company he established in 2009 with a clear mission: to introduce people of all ages and backgrounds to the joys of angling. Through private coaching and partnerships with organisations such as the Environment Agency, Angling Trust, and local councils, Fishwish has helped over 3,000 individuals discover the life-enhancing benefits of fishing.

Charlie's vision was never just about catching fish — it was about connecting people to nature, promoting environmental responsibility, and unlocking the health, educational, and social benefits that come with being outdoors. His commitment to high standards, safety, and inclusion has inspired a generation of coaches and continues to shape angling education across the country.

As Fishwish evolves into a Community Interest Company, Charlie’s legacy ensures that the mutual interests of commercial and charitable angling efforts remain at the heart of the organisation. His life’s work has enriched thousands of lives, and his passion continues to ripple through every cast, course, and coaching session.

Charlie’s legacy is not only in the memories he leaves behind but in the vibrant, growing angling community that carries his spirit forward.
