Junior Fishing Coaching on the South Drain – Weston-super-Mare

Join Summerhayes Juniors for a hands-on junior angling coaching session on the South Drain in Weston-super-Mare, a classic natural water that’s ideal for building real fishing skills. This session is designed for juniors, beginners, and families who want to learn coarse fishing properly — not rushed, not pressured, and always with fish welfare at the heart of everything we do. 

Our experienced, qualified coaches work closely with each participant, covering the essentials of natural-water angling. From correct fish care and unhooking to whip fishing, float control, and accurate feeding, youngsters will learn how to read the water and fish confidently in a real-world setting. 

The South Drain offers consistent sport and a great mix of species including roach, rudd, skimmers, perch, and even the occasional eel — perfect for keeping sessions exciting while developing technique and watercraft. All coaching is fully supervised, relaxed, and tailored to the ability of each young angler. 

This session proudly supports the Angling Trust Get Fishing initiative, helping introduce the next generation to angling in a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable way. All tackle is provided, so families can simply turn up and enjoy the experience together.
