This open-to-all session is perfect for complete beginners, juniors, families, and anyone who’s ever wanted to give fishing a go but didn’t know where to start.

Set in beautiful surroundings with safe pegs and well-stocked waters, Thorney Lakes provides the ideal setting to learn the basics of angling at your own pace. Our friendly, qualified coaches will guide you step-by-step — from assembling your tackle and choosing bait, right through to catching, handling, and safely returning your first fish.

There’s no pressure, no experience needed, and all equipment is provided. The focus is on enjoying the day, learning something new, and building confidence by the water in a supportive, family-friendly environment.
