About This Course

This is the culmination of our junior angling journey — a month dedicated to refining and reinforcing every technique taught throughout the year. Each week focuses on a specific method, from whip and waggler to pole, feeder, and bomb fishing, ensuring juniors feel confident with every setup. The final week features our End-of-Year Championship Match, where skills are put to the test in a fun, competitive setting. It’s the perfect mix of learning, progression, and celebration to wrap up the season.

Course Structure

Week 1: Whip and Waggler Refresher 5 mins

This week kicks off with a focused revision of whip and waggler techniques — essential skills introduced earlier in the season. Anglers will revisit setting up a balanced rig, float control, and striking effectively when using these methods. The goal is to reinforce confidence and muscle memory while refining casting accuracy and bite detection.

Week 2: Pole and Feeder Fishing Recap 5 mins

Participants will take a deep dive into the technical setups and feeding patterns associated with pole and feeder fishing. This includes elastic ratings, shipping in and out under pressure, and feeder placement precision. Juniors will also experiment with bait presentation and learn how to quickly adapt to changing swim conditions during a session.

Week 3: Bomb Fishing and Tactical Adjustments 5 mins

Anglers will revisit bomb fishing — a method that rewards patience and precision. The session will cover tackle choice, hair rigging, ledgering without a feeder, and mastering the art of waiting for bites. Additionally, we’ll explore tactical decision-making, teaching juniors how to read water, interpret fish behaviour, and make real-time changes for optimal results.

Week 4: All-Technique Practice Session 5 mins

This week provides a full practice session that brings together everything learned so far. Anglers can choose their preferred method or rotate through multiple techniques in one session. Coaches will provide one-on-one guidance, helping each participant sharpen their approach based on strengths, style, and the water conditions on the day.

Week 5: End-of-Year Championship Match 5 mins

To finish the course, juniors will compete in a friendly but structured End-of-Year Match. This is a chance to showcase growth, implement all learned tactics under real match rules, and gain experience with pressure situations. Awards and recognition will be given based on skill, effort, and sportsmanship. It’s a celebration of progress, community, and the angling journey.
